This educational cooperation is aimed at promoting the mutual transfer of knowledge and experience between companies and universities and helping to prepare the next generation of logistics experts for the working world of tomorrow in the best possible way.
The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) and the Logistics study programmes at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna have signed a contract establishing their long-term cooperation. Both partners seek to use this cooperation to advance the further development of the Austrian and global freight transport sector as well as to fulfil their social responsibility by promoting young talent.
The partnership enables the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna to further enhance the practical aspects of its study programmes through close contact with the business community and enables ÖBB RCG to recruit excellently trained graduates to the company.
Top-notch practical experience for students
Students of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in Logistics and Transport Management, which has been one of the leading university-based logistics education programmes in Austria for many years, will benefit most from the new partnership. The cooperation with ÖBB Rail Cargo Group now gives university students the opportunity to learn about current practical challenges and issues first hand.
Students at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna gain comprehensive insights into daily business at an international freight transport company and can gain valuable professional experience through the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group’s involvement in project-related courses, guest lectures and easier access to internships.
