The ILCAD launch conference, postponed from 2020 to 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and due to be hosted by Network Rail at the National Railway Museum of York as an in-person event, has again been cancelled due to the ongoing sanitary crisis.

Network Rail and the International Union of Railways (UIC) are therefore pleased to co-organise an online international conference to launch the 13th International Level Crossing Awareness Day. The online launch conference will be held online on 10 June from 14.00 to 18.00.

This conference attracts railway industry representatives, road authorities, academics and many others from around the world working to raise awareness of the dangers of level crossings.

A registration form and a draft programme will be published shortly.

The ILCAD 2021 worldwide campaign will be maintained in a scaled-down format, similar to 2020, due to the pandemic. Around 40 countries typically participate in the campaign, either by publicising it on their websites or on social media or by organising a range of activities around ILCAD.

The theme of ILCAD 2021 is “distraction” with the motto, “Distraction kills!”.
