On 24 October 2023, the UIC and its members Trenitalia and Adif (the Spanish infrastructure manager) participated in the “International Interoperability Symposium” (Coloquio Internacional De Interoperabilidad) organised by the National Technological University of Buenos Aires (Universidad Tecnológica Nacional de Buenos Aires, UTN-BA).

The webinar began with a brief introduction of UIC and its operations and safety activities. In particular, the next events being held in Buenos Aires were announced: ILCAD and TRESPAD in June 2024. Trenitalia then gave a presentation on their customer service experiences at the Roma Termini station, which is one of the largest in Italy with more than 160 trains a day. The last talk was given by Adif on its experiences in the freight traffic liberalisation market, with an interesting return of experience.
