On 24 April 2024, the UIC Circular Economy Sector is continuing its exploration on how to promote circular economies. Part of the Zero Waste series, this workshop being held in Zurich, Switzerland, will focus on systems thinking and discuss how cross-sector collaboration and innovation can accelerate the efficient implementation of a circular economy within the rail sector.

This event will be hosted by SBB-CFF-FFS and includes a behind-the-scenes look at Zurich main station and a technical visit of the “Werkstadt Zurich” project, which is an emblematic achievement in terms of circularity and reusing heritage railway assets, collaboration with local authorities, and the economic transformation of a former industrial area.
