UIC, ONCF and SNTF co-hosted the 1st online training session on Management of Railway Projects organized within the UIC Africa Training session Programme held 4 times a year for African railway networks.
The session was attended by over 100 participants from Senegal, Niger, Algeria, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Djibouti, Gabon, Côte d’ivoire, Morocco, Cameroon, Mauritania, Congo and Tchad. The speakers covered the topics on project management of railway development, infrastructure maintenance, constructions of news stations, rehabilitation of rolling stock and other areas.
UIC organised a session on Management of Eole Project, extension of RER E line to the west of Paris. Armelle Lagrange, Communications Director, and Anne Le Garrec, Communication Manager, SNCF, went through the financing of the project, new and existing infrastructure, benefits and innovative exploitation. Another session held by UIC Passenger department included a Case Study of Semi-HS line in India presented by Philippe Lorand who covered the strategic objectives and technical deliverables of the project as well as Maintenance of Railway Infrastructure presented by Hassan Alsalamat, DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH who went through bases, organisation and strategy of maintenance and Asset Management, MMS and Predictive Maintenance.
