The UIC IT / eBusiness cooperates with international standard bodies in order to promote interoperability and comptatibility between different world regions and transport modes.

CEN

CEN is the European Committee for Standardization, founded in 1961 by the national standards bodies in the European Economic Community and EFTA countries.

CEN defines voluntary technical standards, which promote free trade, the safety of workers and consumers, interoperability of networks, environmental protection, exploitation of research and development programmes, and public procurement.

CIT

The CIT’s tasks are

  • Implementation of the COTIF
  • Standardisation of the legal relations between rail actors
  • Representation of interests in dealings with public and private institutions

OSJD

The OSJD is the Organisation for Railway Cooperation headquartered in
Warsaw, Poland. OSJD and eBusiness collaborate in the drafting of common leaflets and the management of the company codes.

UN/CEFACT

The United Nations body UN/CEFACT encourages close collaboration between governments and private business to secure the interoperability for the exchange of information between the public and private sector.
